Alors voilà: Stephen est âgé de 25 - 35 ans, il est originaire de Paradise et vient d'une famille heureuse et soudée. C'est le genre de garçon silencieux qui profite de la vie, plutôt heureux et entouré. Il y a quatre ans, suite à une violente dispute avec sa famille / ses amis / sa copine (selon vos propositions) il quitte la ville. Il part vivre une vie quelque peu nomade, expérimente des tas de choses, ne se pose jamais bien longtemps. Il reste quelques mois à Miami avec une fille qu'il aime beaucoup. Un jour il la découvre avec un autre, et pète un câble. Il frappe l'homme jusqu’à ce que celui-ci ne donne plus aucun signe de vie. Alors, apeuré à l'idée d'avoir des ennuis, il quitte la ville après avoir appelé les urgences et rentre à Paradise. Sachant pertinemment qu'on lui demanderait des comptes, il décide de foncer dans un arbre, se retrouve blessé et dit à ceux qui le secourent qu'il a complètement perdu la mémoire. Cela ferait entre 2 semaines et 2 mois qu'il serait de retour dans sa ville d'origine "sans le moindre souvenir"
